Solution
A unique variation for each lab derived from the overarching SPAN brand.
Quarter generated a simple monogram to serve as the logo for SPAN institute. Using the same underlying shape structure, the designer extended that identity with a unique variation of the SPAN logo to each of the 19 research labs.
